Waitrose Farnham raid: Thieves rip cash machine from wall just weeks after raid at Waitrose Bagshot

Thieves ripped a cash machine from a unit outside Waitrose in Farnham during the early hours of Monday morning (November 20).

Farnham resident, Daniel Adler, posted a picture on Facebook of the ATM on the floor outside the supermarket in The Hart .

The ATM was housed in a metal unit but has been pulled from the casing.

The image shows the frontage completely torn off, with parts of the cash machine left strewn around the scene outside the store.

Ram-raiders target ATMs in Surrey

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “Officers attended The Hart in Farnham in the early hours of Monday (November 20) following reports of a theft of an ATM outside Waitrose in Farnham.

“A cordon is currently in place while officers carry out a forensic investigation of the scene.

“Anybody who witnessed any suspicious activity or with any information is urged to 101 quoting 45170128988.”

The incident comes just weeks after a ram-raid at Waitrose in Bagshot when the offenders stole an ATM from the store in London Road on Saturday (November 11).

The Bagshot supermarket was closed while Surrey Police carried out investigations.

A force spokesman said at the time: “We were called to Waitrose in London Road in Bagshot just after midnight this morning (November 11) after a ram raid took place.

“Two vehicles were used to break into the premises and remove the ATM machine.”
