Two men charged with separate burglaries at homes in Merstham and Dorking

A man from Epsom has been charged with stealing jewellery, watches and bags from a Dorking address. while another man has been charged with a separate burglary in Merstham.

Luke Andrews, 21, from Pelman Way, Epsom appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (April 18) having been charged with burgling a property in Deepdene Drive on Monday, April 16.

Jewellery, watches and bags were stolen in the break-in.

Andrews has been remanded in custody to next appear at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, May 17.

In a separate incident, Lloyd Edwards 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary of an address on Merstham High Street on April 13.

He appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on April 14 where he entered a not guilty plea to the offence.

Car keys, a watch and some aftershave were taken during the daytime burglary. Edwards was remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Crown Court on May 17 for the start of his trial.
