Sara Norman told Get Surrey that her son Charlie, aged nine, and a group of his friends at St Catherine’s Primary School recorded Ring Out The Bells in the summer before making a music video during the autumn.
The group, called Little Peeps, were joined in their endeavour by John Parr, of St Elmo’s Fire fame, and Lorraine Crosby, who features on the Meatloaf classic, I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That).
Proceeds from the song, which can be downloaded from iTunes, will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Mrs Norman said: “Charlie and his cousins Millie and Eve, at The Priory School in Reigate, aged 10 and eight, were asked to sing.
“John Parr and Lorraine Crosby were both very keen to be involved on the song, hence they recorded their parts in the summer too.
“John Parr visited all the children at St Catherine’s to watch them in their school production of Carrots The Musical.
“Ring Out the Bells highlights the traditional Christmas messages and the children have loved recording the song.
“Everyone has different memories that make their Christmas special and it is without doubt that the music is an influential factor.
“We hope that Ring Out The Bells will help to make everyone’s Christmas even more special and help those who rely on Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.”
