The Compton phone box has once again caught the eye of locals in Surrey.

The phone box has been decorated in support of Red Nose Day, which is set to take place on Friday (March 15).

Red Nose Day is a day of events and activities which aims to raise money in the name of Comic Relief .

Chris Sharples, a resident of the village and parish councillor, first started the quirky project to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding back in May 2018.

Since then, he has decorated the phone box to mark numerous other important dates, including  Remembrance Day , the World Cup and Burns Night.

He decorated the phone box on Monday (March 11), using a disposable beer keg for the nose. He painted it red and added a smile as a finishing touch.

He said: “It’s a really simple one but everyone has gone mad for it.

“I made the red nose and put a smile on it and it seems to have got everyone’s attention.

“My aim is to make people smile and also to remind people to slow down when driving through the area, as people do live there.”

Mr Sharples is working with the The Meath Epilepsy Charity for his next project.
