Passers-by and shoppers have allegedly had “racial abuse” yelled at them by a man on Dorking High Street.

Surrey Police, specifically the Mole Valley Beat Facebook page, has released a description of a man who is claimed to have shouted the abuse for approximately ten minutes.

The alleged incident took place on Sunday (November 18) just after midday. Abuse was apparently shouted at people walking and also in shops.

In a first post on Monday (November 19), Mole Valley police described a man in connection to the incident, citing it as “racial abuse”.

On Tuesday (November 20) morning, the Facebook page released a photo of a man matching the description from the previous post, but stating that they wished to speak to him in relation to a public order incident.

Police are now appealing for public help in identifying the man, who is described as: white, 5ft 10in, average build and wearing a red baseball cap with long white socks over the bottom of trousers.
