Naked man seen running through Leatherhead taken to hospital

A man was seen running naked through the streets of Leatherhead before being detained and taken to hospital.

Surrey Police attended the incident on Wednesday morning (March 13) when approximately five officers reportedly restrained the naked man following a chase at about 10.15am.

Officers detained the man near the BP petrol station in Kingston Road. The man was unharmed during the incident but was taken by ambulance to Epsom Hospital.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to Kingston Road in Leatherhead after we received reports of a concern for safety.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, and a man was taken to hospital. No one suffered any injuries and no arrests were made.”

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called in by police at 10.30am to the junction of Kingston Road and Randalls Road.

“There was a concern for welfare of a man that police requested our assistance with. We sent one ambulance to the scene and the person was taken to Epsom Hospital for further treatment.”
