Kingston death: Man charged with murder of 19-year-old woman alongside rape and kidnap charges

Two men are due in court in connection with the murder of a young woman in Kingston and the kidnap of a second victim.

A 33-year-old man, who was arrested at an address in Kent, has been charged with the murder, rape and kidnap of a 19-year-old woman.

He is also charged with the rape, attempted murder and kidnap of a second victim, a woman in her 20s.

A 28-year-old man, who was arrested after a vehicle was stopped by police in New Malden, is charged with the kidnap of both women.

Both defendants are due before magistrates in Wimbledon on Monday (July 24).

The charges relate to an incident in Kingston on Wednesday July 19.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Friday (July 21) gave cause of death of the 19-year-old woman as an incised wound to the neck.

Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased and are supporting the next of kin with a family liaison officer.

A second woman is being supported by a specialist officer from within Specialist Crime and Operations.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and released under investigation on Thursday (July 20).
