‘He belongs behind bars’: Man convicted of inflicting ‘horrific’ injuries on partner including ruptured spleen and fractured vertebrae goes on the run

A man found guilty of assaulting his partner after leaving her with “a split spleen and fractured vertebrae” has gone on the run.

Danny Jeeves, 25, of Morden, was convicted in his absence of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent at Guildford Crown Court on Monday (January 8).

Mr Jeeves, who is yet to be sentenced for his crimes, last signed into a police station on December 28 before failing to turn up for the case.

Surrey Police has warned the public not to approach him and has launched an appeal for information to help trace him.

Detective Constable Nicola Deadman said: “Danny Jeeves should be in prison now, after being found guilty of inflicting horrific injuries on his partner.

“He has been convicted of a very serious offence and for that reason I would ask the public not to approach him, but to contact us straight away if you know where he is.

“Danny Jeeves subjected his partner to a prolonged assault, leaving her with broken ribs, a bruised lung, a split spleen, a fractured vertebrae and a black eye.

“He belongs behind bars, where he can no longer pose a risk to his partner, or to anyone else. Please help us ensure he is locked up.”

DC Deadman added: “The trial started at Guildford Crown Court on January 8 and Mr Jeeves, who was on conditional court bail, last signed in at a police station on December 28, 2017.

“He has been found guilty of the charge of grievous bodily harm with intent, but is yet to be sentenced.”

Jeeves’ offending took place at an address in Dorking in April 2017.
