Guildford Local Plan: Is this what the Hog’s Back could look like if Blackwell Farm development goes ahead?

A new video has made claims of the potential impact that building homes along the Hog’s Back could have on the area’s landscape.

Blackwell Farm has been earmarked for the development of 1,800 houses in the latest draft of Guildford’s long term development document, the Local Plan, despite strong opposition from residents during previous consultations in 2014 and 2016.

The council says that one of the changes in the latest draft is a reduction in the numbers of homes during the plan period – primarily in green belt areas such as Gosden Hill Farm and Blackwell Farm – with 300 fewer residential units at each site, due to phasing of delivery expected beyond 2034.
