Bread week on the Great British Bake Off may have been the show’s filthiest episode yet, with innuendos flying left, right and centre.

Judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, especially, showed off their cheeky side in the tent on Tuesday night’s programme.

Surrey contestant Sophie Faldo , from West Molesey , proved she could make bread with her signature tagine teacakes, technical cottage loaf and showstopper picnic basket.

Gossip from Great British Bake Off 2017

Sophie’s bread received mixed reviews from the judges, for two of her three bakes being slightly underdone and lacking in colour and flavour, yet she managed to slide through to next week’s show which will be caramel week – a Bake Off first.

But it was Paul and Prue who revealed themselves to be king and queen of the innuendo.

Prue made Paul giggle when she asked him if he “floured his finger” when making cottage loaves during the second challenge.

Covering his face and laughing, Paul replied: “I could oil it.”

Meanwhile, viewers were also treated to a visual innuendo as Julia’s snail bread sculpture – and Star Baker of bread week – left Paul in a fit of the giggles.

Flo, 71, became the third person to leave the tent.

Don’t miss the fourth episode and caramel week on Channel 4 next Tuesday (September 19) at 8pm.
