Surrey Sports Park in Guildford will host the the UK’s first family festival of sport, dance, health and fitness this weekend.

A number of famous sportsmen and women have been working with organisers to put on GoFest 2015 from July 10-12.

Ambassadors Kevin Keegan and Sharron Davies helped launch the event, which will see 50 competitive sports, 10 water sports and at least 25 classes on offer over the weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing‘s Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite will be running Fitsteps classes every day.

The non-partnered workout focuses on the cha cha, jive, tango, samba, quickstep, paso and waltz and is suitable for all levels.

GoNetball, one of the sports zones at the festival, will be delivered by none other than Surrey Storm‘s community team.

Coached by England international Tamsin Greenway, she too is working with organisers to deliver this debut event.

World class British athlete Roger Black MBE is also on board as a GoFest ambassador.

Black said: “There is no doubt the London Olympics inspired the nation and major new initiatives like GoFest are so important to ensure we build on that legacy.

“I’m delighted to be involved supporting what promises to be an amazing opportunity for families to ‘have a go’ at such a huge variety of sports and activities in one action packed weekend.

“As a local dad as well, I’m particularly excited that this first ever GoFest is taking place at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford so I can take my kids as well.”

Four-time European javelin champion Steve Backley is the newest GoFest ambassador to join the team.
