A 13-year-old girl has created a slime company to help raise money for a bench to be built in memory of her late 17-year-old brother.

Ben Cook’s body was pulled from a swimming pool in Oxshott on the morning of May 14, 2017.

An inquest held in February recorded a verdict of accidental death for the Gomshall teenager.

Following the tragedy his younger sister Sasha decided to channel her grief into something positive. She started selling slimes on the internet to raise money for a £2,000 memorial bench on Shere Recreational ground, a place that holds a lot of meaning for the family.

Sasha and her family are selling homemade slimes as a children’s toy for children over 4 – a stress reliever for adults and teens, and a physiotherapy aid for the elderly.

The slimes cost £4.50-6.50 and come in different colours, scents and textures – you can get glittery blue “Snow Slime” and scents like mango crush and vanilla waffle.

She said: “I have created a slime business to raise enough money to purchase the bench in my brother’s name.

“This will be somewhere for us to sit and reflect and for us all to remember Ben.”
