Firefighters rescue toddler locked in house when gust of wind blew front door closed

A toddler had to be rescued by firefighters are becoming trapped inside a property.

The one-year-old became locked inside the house in Coneybury, Bletchingley , on Tuesday afternoon (September 12).

One fire engine from Godstone fire station was sent to the home at around 5.30pm.

A spokesman for the station said: “A crew attended the house to rescue the one-year-old, who had become locked inside.

“The wind had blown the front door shut and the mum didn’t have the keys on her to get back inside.”

A spokesman for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service added: “Firefighters used equipment carried on their vehicle to rescue the child.”

The crew returned to the station at around 6.30pm.
