Engineering work is set to take place on railway lines across Surrey over the Easter bank holiday.

The extended weekend, which runs from Friday April 3 to Monday April 6 this year will see a number of disruptions to services across Surrey.

As well as the engineering work, a number of operators will be operating a reduced service over the weekend.

Here is everything you need to know train services during the holiday break:

Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday

    South West Trains

    • Four trains an hour will run between London Waterloo and Reading.

    • There will be no service between London Waterloo and Weybridge via Hounslow and Staines.

    • Passengers should use the altered Windsor services between London Waterloo and Staines, and the Reading services to and from Virginia Water.

    • Replacement bus services will run between Virginia Water and Weybridge, calling at Chertsey and Addlestone.

    Southern

    • Southern will operate a Saturday service on Good Friday (April 3), Easter Saturday (April 4) and Easter Monday (April 6)

    Easter Sunday

    South West Trains

    • All lines in the Ash Vale area will be closed Sunday until mid-morning for maintenance work. During this time:

    • Trains to and from Alton will be diverted via Guildford, rather than calling at Brookwood or Ash Vale.

    • Replacement bus services will run between Aldershot and Woking.

    • Trains between Guildford and Ascot will be replaced by buses between Aldershot and Ascot.

    Southern

    • Routine maintenance to the signalling at Dorking will take place from Friday 3 April to Tuesday 7 April.

    • Train services will run, but will be subject to minor delays and re timings in this area.

    • Services between London Victoria and Horsham will not call at Holmwood, Ockley or Warnham.
    • Buses will run between Dorking and Horsham, calling at stations in between.
    • Also on Tuesday, some services which normally run between Victoria and Dorking will start/ terminate at Epsom.
    • Other routes will operate a normal Sunday service.

First Great Western and Cross Country services

Major work at Reading station will affect First Great Western and Cross Country services from Friday April 3 to Monday April 6. However services from Reading to Redhill and Gatwick Airport via Guildford will operate to a “normal timetable”.

Extra coaches will be added where possible to South West Trains services between London Waterloo and Exeter.

Some First Great Western services will be diverted in and out of London Waterloo via Westbury and Salisbury so minor re timings to South West Trains are expected.

    After the weekend

    Southern

    • Some services which normally run between London Victoria and Dorking will start /terminate at Epsom.
