‘Don’t do it’: Boy gets stuck in tree ’40ft’ from the ground in Camberley

A young boy has been left a little shaken after getting stuck about “40ft” off the ground in a tree.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service were called out at around 4pm on Wednesday (December 6).

One appliance was sent to Berkshire Road, where they found a 10-year-old boy stuck in a fir tree after climbing too high and becoming scared.

A spokesperson for Camberley fire station said: “The branches were really thin so we just had to hack through them and send a firefighter up a ladder to bring him down.

“All the while we just kept the boy calm and made sure we got him down safely. He was unharmed and it was nice to help him out.”

The rescue operation took about five minutes in total and the boy was a left little shaken afterwards, firefighters said.

The spokesperson had some advice for anyone thinking of climbing a tree: “Don’t do it.”
