Film crews have been spotted on the corner of London Road and Clandon Road in Guildford today (October 15).

The crews were filming for a BBC sitcom called Ghosts.

The BBC One sitcom, created and written by the team behind Horrible Histories, will feature six episodes about a group of ghosts who haunt a country mansion.

The restless spirits have all died in the crumbling country pile of Button Hall over the centuries and their afterlives are about to be rudely interrupted by the arrival of young couple Alison and Mike, who plan to turn the derelict house into a bustling family hotel.

“As the ghosts attempt to oust the newcomers from their home, and Mike and Alison discover the true scale of the project they’ve taken on, fate conspires to trap both sides in an impossible house share, where every day is, literally, a matter of life and death”, writes BritishComedyGuide .

Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond Рthe stars of the new series Рwill essentially be making a six-part narrative version of Horrible Histories for grown-ups.

The sitcom is likely to air at the end of this year or early next year.
