Copper wiring and car batteries stolen from Camberley Community Recycling Centre

A community recycling centre has been broken into overnight in Camberley .

The Camberley Community Recycling Centre in Wilton Road behind the Esso garage on Frimley Road, was entered by unknown suspects on Tuesday (May 8) during the night.

An unknown quantity of copper wires and car batteries were stolen from the recycling centre. Police say enquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.

The recycling centre has operated a six day week schedule since January 8 when new timetables were enforced by Surrey County Council.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “It was a break-in overnight on May 8 at the Community Recycling Centre in Camberley. Car batteries and a quantity of copper wire were stolen.

“No arrests and enquiries remain ongoing.”
