A car fire on the M25 is causing delays heading anticlockwise near Leatherhead as two lanes had to be closed.

Fire crews from Painshill , Chertsey and Leatherhead are attending the incident between Junction 10 (Wisely Interchange) and Junction 9 (Leatherhead).

It is believed the car wreckage has been moved to the hard shoulder.

Both lanes are now open.

Highways England earlier tweeted to say: ” Surrey On the M25 anti-clockwise, J10 – J9, two lanes closed while SurreyFRS service tackle a vehicle fire. Still a further two lanes open past the scene, but traffic is slow.”
