Balaclava-clad man threatens Londis staff for cigarettes and booze before pedalling off on bike

A balaclava-clad robber threatened a cashier with a weapon as he demanded he was handed over cigarettes and alcohol, before pedalling off on his bike, say police.

The unknown man was seen loitering outside Londis in St Annes Drive, Redhill, at about 9.30pm on Tuesday (January 8).

He entered the shop and confronted the cashier with a weapon before demanding he was given cigarettes and alcohol, according to Surrey Police.

The man is described as white, wearing dark clothing with a white logo on the left trouser leg, balaclava, and carrying an Adidas backpack.

Detective Constable Alice Button, who is investigating the incident, said: “The man is believed to have turned right, and then right again after he left the store on a pushbike. If you think you may have seen this man leave the store, or in the area nearby, please come forward.

”We are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the robbery.”

Londis declined to comment.
