From irresistible food offers to watching people at the next table bite into a juicy burger – sometimes there are too many temptations.

If you’re heading out for a meal with friends or family, perhaps for a birthday or celebration meal and fear you’ll fall off the wagon, help is at hand.

We’ve made a list of restaurants on your doorstep that have introduced some lighter options to help keep you on track without missing out on all the fun.

How to keep fit and healthy in Surrey

1. Bella Italia, Camberley

An Italian restaurant may not be your first point of call for eating out on a diet, but Bella Italia has introduced a Less is Amore menu featuring limited-edition low-calorie dishes.

Dishes include Low’sagne made with butternut squash sheets and under 500 calories.

Some of the pizzas, pastas and risotto are vegan.

2. Pho, Guildford

Named after Vietnam’s traditional soup, Pho specialises in Vietnamese cuisine and serves nothing but fresh, healthy and authentic street food and drink.

**From January 7-February 31 2019 the street food restaurant will be running a limited edition menu.

The dishes are going to be even healthier than normal, featuring spicy salad rolls wrapped in lettuce and carrots, pho noodle soups made with courgette and butternut squash noodles and cauliflower rice bowls.**

3. Roost, Bagshot

The health-conscious and those following a primal lifestyle can enjoy the latest food trend at this independent eatery. Advocating whole, unprocessed and nutrient-dense foods, Roost serves grain-free, responsibly sourced, healthy breakfasts to eat in or take away.

4. Café Mila, Godalming

Situated next to a yoga studio, if healthy is what you want try the home-made granola with yoghurt and fruit coulis, enjoy an oven-fresh spinach-and-feta muffin, fill up with home-made falafel, crunchy salad and humous in warm pita, have a fruit or veggie juice squeezed to order, or warm up with an infusion of fresh mint grown in the Mila herb garden.

6. Cosy Club, Guildford

Located inside the recently launched Tunsgate Quarter shopping centre, the quirky bar and restaurant celebrates the joys of relaxed dining, drinking and lounging in a fabulous, welcoming setting: think aristocratic abundance with a dash of local village cricket pavilion pottiness.

Founded in Brighton in 2008 by Alun and Dawn Sperring, the restaurant is the second branch in the family-run chain and it is certainly something extraordinary.
